Markus Enochson and the Subliminal Kid : 'these won't put me down' (MISO 009)

it is a stunning and strange, dancefloor monster by Markus Enochson and the Subliminal Kid, called; 'these won't put me down'....

This is a very special record , the original artists made quite some effort to make the sound earthy and old school, they used analogue tape to record all the sounds, using real tape distortion to give it the classic warmth and depth...very cool we think...a step away from the over sanitized music we hear so often with the current 'mixing in the box' styles.

three mixes
on the 12', two by the Swedish loonies themselves and one by Charles
Webster..and for download only there will be an exclusive Charles
Webster re-edit...see initial reactions to uber limited mailout
below....

------DJ Reactions (Miso 009)------

ALEX FROM TOKYO (Tokyo Black Star)

" I have been totally hooked to the Charles Webster remix of "These won't put me down" since I got back from Tokyo completely spacing out and going through all the new music I have downloaded and bought while I was in Tokyo. I have been listening to this absolutely fantastic remix over and over again. It is so beautiful and melancholic, I am loving it! I will definitely play it tonite for the first time at my weekly residency at 105 Rivington in NYC. The original and the other remix are great too, on the dirtier raw ravey kind of track vibe which will do well too! Thank you so much. Worldwide support for sure! Best, "

Ame (innervisions)
"love your (CW) remix! played it in Zukunft
Zürich this weekend ... massive reactions.....thx!,,,,,,love the 'bear
friendly' remix'

Atjazz (mantis recordings)
"This record proves the talent pouring
out of the miso camp, this is very carefully selected music. The
original version is out of this world madness yet still cool as you
can get, and Webster's remix!!! well, it's one of very few tunes that
will stay in my crate for life. And I'm not being biased !....A
timeless classic, it will be in my box for ever"

Ben Watt (buzzin fly)
"not modern, not old, just house aces. you
should be very pleased."

Behrouz
"Really digging charles mix as usuall and the sub kid rmx and the
dub. Great package. Will play all three different mixes for sure. Thank you,
keep it coming. Peace, Behrouz"

D.J Simbad
"Yes yes yes...thank u so much 4 sending that absolute

rawness of it, and da remixes r totally RIDICULOUS !!
Basically u can play da 3 mixes in a good (and long) deep house set
coz dis shhh is dope"

Dave Hernandez (bossanova L.A / Chez music etc..)
"Love the new Miso promo 009!!! I'm loving the sinister
warehouse feel of the Enochson/Sub. Kid remix! I love
how the track with it's synthy stabs slowly builds to the
epic siren synth & 303 lines that's gonna take the party
to the next level! Also digging the Charles Webster mix!
DEEP!!! His mix takes the warehouse vibe into a Smooth
and buttery sound that CW knows how to do so well
...perfect mix to take the crowd into another time and space!
Great package all around! Will definitely play!!!"

Dean DeCosta (bpm mag/ SoCal)
" Miso continues to forge on into deep,
uncharted electronic seas with this classy devil! Markus and Sub Kid
provide the weirdness and CW butters up the dancefloor in fine
fashion. Hats off to all involved! It goes without saying, but Miso
has my undying support!"

DJ Pippi

very well cw mix my favorite..."

Gilles Smith (secret sundaze/two armadillos)
"Definitely got my thumbs up. CW mix is the pick with its warm, glowing feel and cool bassline. Will play"

Jazzanova
"Your (CW) mix is so airy and with a great feeling, rhythm
elements are changing and create this unique Charles Webster Vibe on
the dancefloor.
I love it."

Jimpster (freerage/the bays) "Great to see Miso back on a roll with
the last few killer releases, and this one hits the spot once again.
Charles' mix is the one for me with it's lush rolling vibe and
hypnotic beats. Love this!"

Kiko Navarro (Pacha Recordings, Yoruba, Nite Grooves)
'All mixes are really good, the orig is a bit strange and freak but thats the good
thing, very original sound...Love the "down" voice, and how they used,
the remix is the one for the clubs, straight to kill of those who
likes Carl Craig and fans of the nu-electronic sound. Mr Webster did
his own thing again, a serious deepah remix, do it with tenderness and
dedication, maybe this is the best for me as im very into it but also
i like the remix to play it out...Full support to Miso Bears :) "

Pepe Bradock (atavisme)
" I really like the 12" been playing it (specially the enoch sub kid remix) been mixing it with old school hip hop "

RePublik (waterford)
"Very strong ep with the original and the charles
webster remix being,our favourites.
1. Original - Nice build in the track and a nice use of the catchy
vocal hook. It changes to a slightly techier track in the middle and
will work on the dancefloor.
2. Remix - Techier version with this remix and progresses into an acid
sound later in the track. Should work on house and techno dancefloors.
3. Cw Mix - This is typical of a Charles Webster mix in that he makes
the track very soulful but in his own way. He uses the vocal very
subtlety in the track and this track should rock many dancefloors."

Roland Appel
"your CW rmx is my fave...it is deeep on the floor...."

Tedd Patterson
"yo, Dis good! I'm really liking the sub kid dub... hot
stuff there."

Willi Graff (cielo nyc / pacha ibiza)
"Thanks so much for this release. Its not often you find records like these. The sampling is great! The versions are all good. I played your CW remix at Cielo and
it sounded superb. The enoch/sub kid remix is also excellent when i played it towards the end of the night at Cielo the people went crazy.
Its really a great single.Id expect nothing less from Miso."

The fantastic actress/singer-songwriter Rebecca Pidgeon
(www.rebeccapidgeon.com) makes a rare appearance on 12" vinyl.

The track 'learn to pray' from her U.S.A album "tough on crime' (fuel records) was remixed by Charles Webster earlier in 2006 to great critical acclaim....on this 12" the track get's warped almost out of recognition by

Rebecca has appeared in numerous Hollywood films (Heist, State and Main, The Winslow Boy amongst many others..) and has a great reputation stateside as a live performer with her band...which sometimes includes the great Larry Klein on bass (he also produced her album as well as albums by; Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Madeleine Peyroux etc...).

The mixes on the 12" have been receiving heavy plays from the likes of Jazzzanova, Dixon, Ame amongst many others, and the mixes have been a huge hit at Charles Webster's summer residency at Cielo in NYC. Also it has been on top 10's of both Ben Watt and Jimpster's chart.

The Version mix is a huge jazzy, bassy workout with sax and congas to spare...the Charles Webster dub is a classic deeper than thou groover with a twist and the super mellow

Charles Webster slow mix is beyond chill-out...it's accoustic/electronic lo-fi bliss personified !

it will appear on various compilations soon...including the next Cielo NYC package.
